
The Winter Concert Series returns to the Watertown Library with a variety of artists playing classical, Latin American, and other music played by cellists, guitarists, and groups of musicians. See details in the announcement from the Watertown Library, below.
The Watertown Free Public Library (WFPL) is thrilled to announce our 2025-2026 Winter Concert Series! You’re invited to join us December through March, one Sunday afternoon per month. As in previous years, our concert series features talented, local artists. Performances are free and open to all. Registration is not required.
Vivace Music School Faculty
Sunday, Dec. 7 | 2 PM |The talented faculty of Watertown’s Vivace Music School are excited to perform a variety of classical and modern pieces. We look forward to solos from Annabrett (soprano), Gordon (trumpet), Yukun (classical guitar), and Elise (saxophone). We are excited for a variety of ensembles from Jane (piano), Christopher (cello), Christy (violin), Yeh-Chun (Viola), Pin-hsuan (Cello), and Lazar (Cello).
Nuevas Raíces with Guitarist Jhon Alvarado
Sunday, Jan. 4 | 2 PM |Nuevas Raíces honors Mexican culture through the exploration and sharing of classical music written for the guitar by contemporary Mexican composers. These are composers who have been influenced by the sounds and colors that define Mexico’s modern day vibrant culture. Guitarist Jhon Alvarado explores, presents, develops and expands upon the classical repertoire being written by today’s Mexican composers through Nuevas Raíces.
Cellist Francesca McNeeley
Sunday, Feb. 1 | 2 PM |Haitian-American cellist Francesca McNeeley has received critical acclaim as a collaborator and soloist, her playing described as “virtuosic”, “impressive” and “a remarkable display” by the Boston Musical Intelligencer. Since the fall of 2022 she has become a core member of the Grammy-nominated A Far Cry chamber orchestra. She frequently performs with Castle of Our Skins and the Celebrity Series of Boston. She has also performed with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, and Sarasota Orchestras, and can be heard on BMOP/sound with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project.

Sunday, Mar. 8 | 2 PM | Ágora Cultural Architects celebrates Latin American creativity through amplifying our arts and culture, fostering a sense of community, and showcasing artistic diversity. Musicians to be announced, stay tuned!
