After much festive deliberation (and serious admiration of tinsel, twinkle lights, and creativity), we want to give a HUGE congratulations to our 1st and TIED for 2nd Place Winners & People’s Choice Winner for WBC’s 1st Annual Holiday Decorating Contest! The winners are:

WBC’s Judging Panel Winners

1st Place: Cass School of Floral Design

The “wow factor” of the displays at Cass Flowers blew our judges away! Every inch of their wrap-around windows (and even their roof!) is decorated with beautiful floral arrangements and holiday details. The complexity of every floral placement and decoration contributed to their 1st place prize!

2nd Place (Tie): Gigi’s Pizza Co.

When you walk up to Gigi’s Pizza Co, you can’t help but smile! The Happy Holidays display covers every bit of their space and the lights are visible from a block away. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into decorating here and the “dazzle factor” was high for our judges!

2nd Place (Tie): Janier Barbershop

When you see this impressive Whooville Barbershop theme, you might think it’s stickers or decals – but it’s all hand painted! Our judges were blown away by how unique, creative and thoughtful the details in this artwork are. The display utilized the entire storefront and truly made our judges smile!

People’s Choice Winner

People’s Choice Winner: Perfection Car Wash

Perfection Car Wash won 36% of the nearly 1,000 total community votes with their impressive Winter Wonderland Display that wrapped around the corner on Pleasant and Bridge St! With fun, colorful, light up winter characters and large light tree on the corner, they certainly caught the public’s eye.

All four businesses won a free WBC membership for 2026 as well as a donation in their name to a special charity or organization of their choice. And mother/daughter team Tyke & Faith from Cass School of Floral Design was able to bring home the coveted Sparkle & Shine Cup for the year!

Our four winners chose some exceptional charities and organizations to donate to! The WBC will be making a total of $850 in donations divided among the following:

1st place ($300):  Cass School of Floral Design has chosen the Watertown Boys & Girls Club as their charity of choice and the WBC will be making a $300 donation in their name.

2nd place ($150): Gigi’s Pizza Co. has chosen the Watertown Food Pantry as their charity of choice and the WBC will be making a donation of $150 in their name.

2nd place ($150): Janier Barbershop has chosen Iglesia Evangelica Hispana as their charity of choice and the WBC will be making a donation of $150 in their name.

People’s Choice ($250): Perfection Car Wash has chosen the Alzheimer’s Association as their charity of choice and we’ll be making a $250 donation to the MA/NH Chapter in their honor.

We are SO incredibly thankful to ALL of the businesses who made this first contest a success!! Each one made Watertown a lot brighter this holiday season.

Please go out, visit our contestants and see the decorations yourself over the next week – and we recommend you go a step further and see the inside, especially our restaurants! While this year’s contest focused on outdoor displays, we’d like to give a shoutout to a few businesses who really decked the halls indoors:

Greg’s Restaurant

Donohue’s Bar & Grill

Our local businesses and organizations are what make our community thrive! We hope you continue to check out their displays and give them your support throughout the rest of the year and beyond!

We’re already looking forward to next year’s contest! We wonder who Cass will pass the Sparkle and Shine Cup onto … or will they defend the title and hold onto it for another year??
