Watertown Students Make Dean’s List, Presents Research Project

Watertown students attending college at Saint Anselm, James Madison, the University of Wisconsin, Northern Essex Community College, Hofstra, Assumption, SNHU, and Lasell made the dean’s list during the fall of 2025, and a student at Emmanuel College presented his research project.

Saint Anselm

Saint Anselm College has released the Dean’s List of high academic achievers for the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year. To be eligible for this honor, a student must have achieved a grade point average of 3.4 or better in the semester with at least 12 credits of study which award a letter grade. This semester there were a total of 702 students from 25 states, the District of Colombia, and 3 countries.

Mark W. Cronin, Dean of the College, announced that Kristen Coleman, a Theology Major in the class of Watertown, Massachusetts, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

James Madison

Watertown resident, Margaret Rynne, has been named to the Dean’s List at James Madison University for the fall 2025 semester. Students who earn Dean’s List honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Rynne is majoring in Health Sciences – BS.

University of Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Nikolay Mesropyan, College of Letters and Science, Dean’s List

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction. 

Northern Essex Community College

Congratulations to Catherine Elliott of Watertown on being named to the Northern Essex Community College Fall 2025 Dean’s List.

To be included, students must attain a grade point average of 3.3 or higher within the term, carry six or more credits within the term, and be matriculated in a degree program.

Hofstra

Prahlad Peri of Watertown excelled during the fall 2025 semester at Hofstra, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean’s List. Prahlad’s major is Finance.

Assumption

Assumption University has announced that Isabella Sadkowski, of Watertown, Class of 2028, has been named to the University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester. Students named to the Dean’s List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

“Earning the right to be named to the Assumption University’s Dean’s List is an extraordinary accomplishment and we congratulate those students who demonstrated exemplary academic excellence this semester,” said Assumption University President Greg Weiner, Ph.D. “These students have demonstrated a deep commitment to the pursuit of truth in the company of friends that lies at the heart of the Catholic liberal education Assumption provides.”

SNHU

It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Fall 2025 President’s List. The fall terms run from September to December.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Lasell University

Miguel Colon, a Lasell University student from Watertown, MA was named to the Dean’s List for their academic performance in the Fall 2025 semester.

To be named to the Dean’s List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Local Nursing Student Presents PICOT Research Project

Emmanuel College student Robert Iannetta, of Watertown showcased research skills and nursing knowledge through a PICOT presentation in December.

PICOT is short for: Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Time; It’s a research framework used in nursing to structure clinical questions for evidence-based practice.

All told, 44 students in the Nursing Research course at Emmanuel’s Maureen Murphy Wilkens School of Nursing & Clinical Sciences developed PICOT presentations over the course of the semester.

In addition to practicing their presentation skills, researching the PICOT questions helps students practice defining research questions, conducting lit reviews, using best practices, and more.
