
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
April 12: A woman took $213 worth of merchandise from CVS on Mt. Auburn Street, and was seen leaving in a black Mercedes.
April 13: Multiple pieces of furniture and a mattress were left in the dumpster at the Watertown Boys & Girls Club.
April 13: A resident received a letter from Cambridge Savings Bank about a new bank account opened in the person’s name. The resident had not opened an account and is working with the bank to resolve the situation.
April 14: Two tables, serving dishes, and a clock were dumped at the Watertown Boys & Girls Club.
April 14: A man was stopped for shoplifting at Marshalls after taking $118 in clothing fragrance, and medicine. Officer Devin Shatkin responded and discovered the suspect’s registration had been revoked in November. Abdelaziz Bermaki, 43, of Boston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
April 14: Construction debris was left in a dumpster on Robert Ford Road.
April 15: A man was caught taking $1,141 worth of merchandise from Marshalls. Officer Chris Peterson responded and discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. Manuel Medrano, 38, of Boston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and a warrant from Boston District Court for possession of a Class C drug.
April 15: A resident received a call from a private number and the caller said that the resident had missed a grand jury trial, and needed to send $14,000 or else she could be arrested and held for 72 hours. She went to different banks and the person remained on the phone and told her what to say. She took out $6,000, $3,000, $2,000, and another $3,000, and then deposited into a Bitcoin machine. Police are investigating, but it is not clear if the money will be recovered.
April 15: Someone left tan cushions on the sidewalk on Common Street.
April 16: Two vehicles got into an accident in the parking lot at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street. When police arrived, they discovered one of the drivers had a warrant. Officer Kyle Rooney placed Peter Jules, 20, of Cambridge, under arrest for the warrant for failure to pay fines, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and using a personal electronic device while driving.
April 17: Two packages were stolen from an address on Bigelow Avenue in March. The thefts were reported on April 17.
April 17: A shoplifter wearing a blue face mask took $266 worth of merchandise from Target.
April 17: A womann who took $218 worth of health and beauty products from Target was stopped by security. Officer Devin Shatkin arrested Lauren Molina, 36, of Boston, for shoplifting, a second offense.
April 18: Police arrested a woman for shoplifting from two stores. The woman took $170 worth of items from Marshalls and $20 from Nike. Officer Joseph Saros discovered the suspect had a warrant for her arrest. Adelaida Ortiz, 62, of Boston, was arrested on charges of shoplifting and a default warrant from Boston District Court for possession of a Class B drug, and trespassing.
April 18: Household items were dumped on Holt Street.
April 18: A woman took $204 worth of items from Target.
April 18: A man caught for shoplifting also had an illegal substance in his possession. He had taken sweat shorts and a hat valued at $127. Willis Farrow, 47, of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting — a second offense, and possession of a Class B drug — a subsequent offense.
April 19: Target reportes a woman took $145 worth of clothing, jewelry, and hair products.
April 19: A juvenile girl from Watertown took $87 worth of merchandise from Target.
April 20: Residents of Keenan Street arrived home after a trip and was unpacking the car in the driveway on April 19. Later, the residents discovered that someone took their handicap placard. They reported it to police on the 20th.
April 20: Sometime overnight from April 19 to 20 a vehicle on Robert Ford Road was scratched. The owner believed it was vandalism.
April 20: A resident tried to purchase tickets for a sporting event off of Facebook Marketplace. The resident sent $100 on the Chime app, but did not receive the tickets. The resident tried to contact the seller, but the person stopped responding.
April 20: A resident placed a check in a mailbox on Bellevue Road in March, but it was never cashed. The resident became concerned so the check was cancelled.
April 21: A shoplifter took two pairs of men’s underwear from Target worth $24.
