The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Football Gridiron Club:
Long before the first whistle of the fall football season, Watertown High School football players are already hard at work. Through year-round strength and conditioning programs, summer training camp, and preseason scrimmages, Raiders athletes dedicate themselves to becoming
stronger teammates, better leaders, and representatives of the Watertown community.
Supporting that effort is the Watertown Football Gridiron Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds that enhance the football experience for Watertown student-athletes. Funds raised by the club supplement school funding and help provide nutritional support, team meals, equipment, training resources, and financial assistance for families who may need additional support to participate in the program.
At the heart of the program is a simple philosophy taught by Head Coach Joey Carroll: “We/Me” — putting we before me. The message resonates far beyond the football field. It emphasizes teamwork, selflessness, and community responsibility—values that have long defined Watertown itself.
“Coach Carroll teaches our players that success comes from putting the team first,” said Nick Pavlidis of the Watertown Football Gridiron Club. “That’s also how Watertown operates as a community. When local families and businesses support our football program, they’re putting ‘We’ before ‘Me’ and helping create opportunities for the next generation of Raiders.”
This year, the community has two important opportunities to support the team.

Third Annual Watertown Raiders Golf Tournament
The Watertown Football Gridiron Club will host its Third Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, August 21, at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Community members, alumni, families, and local businesses are invited to participate by registering a foursome or sponsoring the event. Sponsorship opportunities begin at just $100, making it an accessible way for individuals and organizations to support the program while gaining visibility among local residents and supporters.
Golfers will enjoy a day of competition, camaraderie, and prizes, all while helping raise funds that directly benefit Watertown football players and coaches.
Registration and sponsorship information can be found at watertownfootballfundraiser.com.
The Gridiron Club is also seeking gift card donations for tournament prizes. Businesses or individuals interested in contributing a gift card may contact Nick Pavlidis at watertownraidersgc@gmail.com.
Raiders Football Banner Sponsorship Program
Local businesses can also support the team through the Raiders Football Banner Sponsorship Program.
For $500, sponsors will receive a professionally produced banner displayed at all Watertown High School home football games throughout the season. These banners provide a highly visible way for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to local student-athletes while gaining exposure to hundreds of community members attending games throughout the fall.
Banner sponsorships not only promote local businesses but also send a powerful message of support to the players who represent Watertown on and off the field.

A Community Investment
The Watertown football program helps student-athletes develop discipline, leadership, accountability, resilience, and teamwork—skills that extend far beyond the game itself. Community support plays a critical role in ensuring every player has access to the resources needed to compete, grow, and succeed.
Whether through tournament participation, sponsorships, gift card donations, or banner purchases, every contribution helps strengthen the football program and reinforces the community spirit embodied by Coach Carroll’s “We/Me” philosophy.
