Watertown News asked candidates a series of questions. 1) If elected, what will you make your top priority for the first six months of your term? Given the many ways in which we can do so much better on so many issues, I’m not going to confine myself to a single priority. We have a lot of issues that Watertown is facing and are deserving of being top priorities.

Library Trustee Candidates Talk About Issues Facing the Library

Candidates have been coming out in droves for the 2015 Watertown Election and the Library Board of Trustees is no exception. The candidates appeared at the League of Women Voters Candidate Forum on Sunday. The three of the four Library Trustees candidates on the Nov. 3 ballot attended the forum, but current trustee Timothy Tracy could not attend because of a conflict with a fundraiser for his family’s foundation. The candidates were asked how the Watertown Free Public Library could better spread the word about all of its programs and events.

Final Watertown Farmers Market Includes a Halloween Party

The end of October means the end of the season for the Watertown Farmers Market, but it will go out with a bash. “Parting is such sweet sorrow; let’s party instead!” organizers of the Farmers Market said. On Thursday, Oct, 29 from 2-6 p.m., the final Watertown Farmers Market will also be  a Neighborhood Halloween Party at the Arsenal on the Charles, 3 Kingsbury Ave. (off Arsenal Street) under the smokestack.

I am writing in support of Lisa Feltner’s campaign for District B Town Councilor. Lisa has my vote on November 3rd along with my heartfelt endorsement for her candidacy. I first met Lisa 11 years ago when our kids, now high school sophomores, were in kindergarten at Hosmer School. We were both involved parents in the school, so I soon got to know Lisa well.

Enjoy a Free Veterans Day Concert by the Hal McIntyre Orchestra

Watertown will hold a “Salute to All Veterans” on Veterans Day with a free concert featuring the world famous Hal McIntyre Orchestra. The orchestra is conducted by Watertown’s own Don Pentelton and stars Steve Marvin. The concert will include a Tribute to Frank Sinatra’s 1ooth birthday. The concert will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at Watertown Middle School, 68 Waverly Ave, Watertown, from 7-9:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
