Glory Days for Small Saves in This Week’s Cartoon

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. WEEKEND FUN: Mother’s Day Brunch, Children’s Theatre, Film on Greek Singer, Medicinal Plant Walk, Eco Fest

May flowers may have been brought by April showers, but there do seem to be plenty of May showers around as well. This weekend there are fun activities to accommodate both flowers and rain. You can start Friday evening with a unique film about a famous Greek musician, Stelios Kazantzidis at the Majestic 7. There is a Watertown Children’s Theater production of Hadestown with their high school aged actors on the weekend evenings or Saturday and Sunday matinees. On Saturday there is the first Watertown Eco Fest at the Commander’s Mansion that will be educational and fun.

New “Documentary Novel” Focuses on Drama of Local Government; Writer Will Appear With Other Local Authors

Watertown’s Dewitt Henry, an award-winning novelist, will speak about his new book, Top Cop Kills at a Literary Tea at the Watertown Library on May 10. Art Exhibit Features Works of 9 Members of Book Group

Storefront Art Projects in Watertown will present “Literary Imprints.” Nine book group members share their artwork during the exhibition at the gallery located at 83 Spring St. in Watertown from May 3 – 31, 2025. Let’s start the weekend by saving money on children’s clothes. At the library on Friday afternoon there is a kid’s clothing swap. It’s good for the environment and your wallet, and there’s no need to worry about tariffs when buying used clothes! All day Saturday there will be a celebration going on at the Comic Stop, as they will be celebrating World Free Comic Book Day! It’s great fun for children and adults. Saturday afternoon, you can join a tour of Mount Auburn Cemetery.
