Watertown’s football bounced back from their first loss of the season with a decisive win over visiting Saugus on Friday night. 

The Raiders’ lacked a passing attack, but still racked up more than 300 yards of offense. Raiders Keep Rolling, Capture Field Hockey Section Title

The Raiders field hockey team put away a pesky Weston team to win Sunday’s MIAA Div. 2 North Section final. Watertown (21-0) earned another section title and lengthened its unbeaten streak to 136 straight games with the win at North Andover High School. Sophomore Kourtney Kennedy whacked home a goal to give the Raiders a lead under three minutes into the game. Watertown coach Eileen Donahue said Kennedy did a good job keeping the play alive after a corner and scored the goal.

Field Hockey Heads to Section Final; Football at Home Friday

The Watertown field hockey team continued its march toward a sixth straight state title Wednesday night. The Raiders (20-0) rolled over Tewkesbury with six first half goals, including a hattrick from sophomore Kourtney Kennedy. WHS Sports: Soccer, Field Hockey Win and Cross Country Preps for States

The Raiders continued their tournament success this week with both the boy’s soccer and field hockey teams moving on. The boy’s soccer team defeated Wakefield on Monday evening with a game-winning goal by Roman Davis. He also had an assist on the first goal, according to the Boston Globe report. The past two years, Watertown (9-5-5) made it to the state semifinals (and made it to the state final two years ag0). The team faces a tough challenge in their next game when the Raiders take on the top seed in the North Section Div.

Watertown Plays a Thriller of a Football Game With Swampscott

Victory Field was filled with thrills and excitement on Halloween night, but it could be a night that haunts the Watertown’s football team. The Raiders (7-1) hosted Swampscott (4-4) in the Div. 4 North section quarterfinal. Watertown with the first undefeated regular season since 1977 and looked poised to keep rolling when they took the first possession and scored a touchdown. Quarterback Nick Giordano kept the drive alive by scrambling and hitting Zach Rimsa on a 3rd and 9 play.

Watertown Rolls in First Field Hockey Tournament Game

The Raiders scored early and pulled away late in the MIAA North Section quarterfinal against Newburport Friday afternoon. Watertown won 4-0, with two goals coming from sophomore Kourtney Kennedy. She started the scoring less than 5 minutes into the game with a blast of a shot from over 10 yards away from goal that whizzed past Newburyport goalie Jade Carpenter. After getting off to fast start, the Raiders had trouble getting a second tally. “They had a lot of players piled back there,” said senior midfielder and co-captain Allie Doggett.

Watertown Field Hockey Starts Hunt for Sixth Straight State Title

The Watertown field hockey team learned who it will play in the State Tournament as they seek a sixth straight crown. The top seeded Raiders will host the quarterfinal of the MIAA Div. 2 North Section field hockey tournamentagainst the winner of the Wilmington (eighth seed, 9-4-3)-Newburyport (ninth, 9-5-4) game. Watertown will play on Friday, Oct. 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Victory Field.

Watertown Learns Opponent in First Round of Football Tourney

With a perfect 7-0 record, Watertown will host a playoff game on Halloween night as the second seed in the MIAA Div. 4 North bracket. The Raiders will take on seventh-seeded Swampcott (3-4) on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at Victory Field. Watertown won the Middlesex League Freedom Division with a win Friday at Wilmington.
