City Hall Annex at Parker Building to Temporarily Close
The following announcement was provided by the City of Watertown:
The City’s Parker Building at 124 Watertown Street will be temporarily closed from May 2-12, 2026, to undergo electrical service upgrades in the building.
School Officials Outline Strategies to Improve Watertown’s Special Education Program
A study of the Watertown Public Schools’ special education found a number of areas of concerns, including a lack of uniformity, a need for better communication with families, and a distrust among parents of students in the program.
Restaurants Won’t be Allowed to Automatically Include Plastic Utensils Under New Ordinance

A new ordinance approved by the City Council prohibits restaurants from automatically including plastic utensils with takeout orders, however customers can request these items when they order or pick up their food.

JIM’S VIEW: Field Hockey Wastes No Time Getting Back To Their Winning Ways

Watertown Field Hockey expects to be the best. They practice hard. They train and play year-round. They have a legendary coach in her 40th year who cares about her players, cares about teaching the sport, but also cares about teaching life-lessons. So, while no one feels sorry for Watertown after they lost for the first time since 2019 on Tuesday, players were certainly eager to learn from the loss and move on towards their ultimate goal — another State title.

Unsettled weather lingers Friday with a few early showers, then a long stretch of much improved conditions takes over. The weekend is bright and comfortable, with highs in the 70s and crisp, clear nights. Early next week turns even warmer, with several days near 80°F under mostly sunny skies. By midweek, a northeast breeze brings a cooler, more autumn-like feel to close out the period.
