More Than Two Dozen Open Houses in Watertown This Week

Watertown’s Winter Parking Ban will last just two months in 2026, from Jan. 1 to March 1, after the City Council approved a temporary change in the overnight parking regulations. In addition, they approved a sharp increase in fines for cars left on the road during a snow emergency.

This weekend starts off with a craft night at the library maker space on Friday for the LGBTQ community. Then Saturday there’s an Irish band playing at the Ancient Order of the Hibernians that could well get you singing and dancing the night away. If you’d prefer a Latin beat, Olespana can serve up a variety of Spanish food, to be followed by dancing in the later hours. Sunday is the time for quieter activities. There’s a drawing workshop at Mt. Auburn for all levels of artistic ability, or you might be interested in the Armenian American history in World War II, a film that’s showing Sunday afternoon at the library. Watertown can entertain you well this weekend.
Recipients of food assistance in Massachusetts will see their benefits that can be used to buy fresh produce cut beginning in December, but there are efforts to ask the Governor and Legislature to restore the funding the in the State Budget.
The City of Watertown provided an update on the Mt. Auburn Street road project, including impacts from the weekend paving work.
The Charles River Regional Chamber hosted a big crowd at the annual Fall Business Breakfast last week, and will be in Watertown next week for a morning of coffee and networking at a local fitness studio.

The Raiders moved on to the Round of 8 in the MIAA Div. 3 Field Hockey Tournament after defeating St. Mary’s 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
