Marilynne Roach, president of the Historical Society of Watertown, and State Rep. Steve Owens recently joined the reenactment and commemoration of an event that helped turn the tide of the American Revolution.
Defending Power Play Senior Hockey League Champs, the Boston Gold Kings, will open the finals by hosting the Hudson Valley Reapers on Saturday, April 4 at 4 p.m. at John A. Ryan Arena in Watertown.

State Sen. Will Brownsberger

The Office of Senator Will Brownsberger is accepting applications for part-time, unpaid internships for the summer of 2025. Internships are reserved for residents of the Suffolk and Middlesex District. Applications are due Monday, April 7, 2025.

The Dororthy and Charles Mosesian Center for the Arts (MCA) is searching for a new Executive Director. Since September 2024, former Executive Director, Roberta Miller, has been serving in an interim capacity pro bono. The MCA, like most community arts organizations, is still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Roberta’s return in a pro bono capacity has been essential to the re-stabilization of the organization.
Watertown Fire DepartmentFirefighter Joseph Toscano, a 21-year veteran of the Watertown Fire Department, died on March 17, 2017 after collapsing during a fire.
St. Patrick’s Day is a somber one for the Watertown Fire Department. Each year since 2017 Watertown Firefighters pay tribute to Joe Toscano, who lost his life fighting a fire on Merrifield Avenue.

The City Council voted unanimously to approve the FY26-30 Capital Improvement Plan as discussed and amended by the Budget & Fiscal Oversight Committee over the course of three separate meetings. Total capital spending for FY26 will be $38,049,000, which is 17.9% of the total projected FY26 budget.

Watertown’s five-year capital plan for Fiscal Years 2026-30 by the has 51 items, including replacing Watertown Middle School, road repair, and renovating parts of the Victory Field complex. The City Council voted to recommend the budget be included in City Manager George Proakis’ Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget.
