Man Arrested After Cigarette Links Him to Watertown Home Break In

Watertown Police were able to link a man to a home break in through the brand of cigarette that he smokes. 

On May 1 at 11:15 p.m. Watertown Police received a call from a Winsor Avenue resident who said a man had just broken into her home, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “The man entered here apartment and she had no idea who the person was,” O’Connor said. “She was upstairs when she heard her front door open. She went downstairs and saw a male in the interior of her apartment and she began yelling for him to get out. She was able to physically push him out, locked the door and called police.”

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests
March 29, 4:45 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Common Street after a car struck a parked car on the hill section of the road. The vehicle was last seen heading southbound toward Watertown Square. It was located on Katherine Road and the officer spotted heavy front-end damage and fluids leaking from the car. During and interview, the officer detected an odor of alcohol on the breath of the driver, and conducted field sobriety tests.
