Watertown Walks Return, Each Feature City, Health, Arts & Business Themes

The following information was provided by the City of Watertown’s Live Well Watertown:

WEEKLY WATERTOWN WALKS are back! Weekly programs will take place every Thursday, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (10 a.m. in July & August) and include movement, conversation, and opportunities to connect, interact, and explore the greater community. The walking portion of these programs will be approximately 30 – 40 minutes, and we encourage attendees to walk at a comfortable pace. 

Each month will feature city happenings, health and wellness, arts & culture, and community/business assets (some walks are in collaboration with the Watertown Public Arts & Culture Committee and Watertown Business Coalition). Fall Leaves and History to be Featured at Walk N Talk Around Mount Auburn Cemetery

Enjoy the fall foliage and hear about the history of the Mount Auburn Cemetery during the Walk N Talk co-sponsored by the Watertown Business Coalition and Live Well Watertown. The WBC provided the following announcement about the event on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m.:

We will be joined by the Mount Auburn Cemetery President and CEO Matthew Stephens. During the WALK N TALK we will hear a few stories about those buried on the grounds, discuss the history of the Cemetery as well as discuss new initiatives! Arrival: arrive via our Mount Auburn Street Entrance (580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge).

Residents Share Their Desires for Watertown Square with City’s Economic Development Planner

Two members of the City of Watertown staff who will be designing the new Watertown Square led a group of more than a dozen people on a walk through the area to get an idea of what residents want to see in the center of town. The walk, held on Sept. 5, was part of Live Well Watertown’s Walk N Talk series, and was led by Erin Rathe, the City’s Senior Planner for Economic Development. Joining her was the Director of Community Design, Erika Oliver Jerram.

Join the Walk N Talk Focused on STEM and Life Science in Watertown

The Linx Building in Watertown. See some of Watertown’s life science companies and take a walk around the bicycle and pedestrian paths around East Watertown during the STEM Walk N Talk. The event, co-sponsored by the Watertown Business Coalition and Live Well Watertown, will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Linx Building, 490 Arsenal Way in Watertown. Please meet at 9:45.

Happy 2024 ~ we hope the beginning of the year is going well! Our planning is underway to continue offering diverse programs that build a healthier and more connected community. The 2023 Farmers’ Market finished its 10th season stronger than ever and our work on food security reached many more residents. A variety of Live Well programs inspired and encouraged people to eat well, move more, stress less, and connect with the greater community.
