Mt. Auburn St. Project: Sidewalk Reconstruction and Drainage Installation This Week

The Mt. Auburn Street Project during the week of July 27-31 includes sidewalk work from Boylston to School streets, Hillside Avenue to Upland Road, and School Street to Amherst Road. Drainage work will take place from Bates Road to Russell Avenue. The following information was provided by the City of Watertown:

Sidewalk Grading & Forming

Sidewalk fine grading will take place on Mount Auburn Street between Boylston Street to School Street and Hillside Avenue to Upland Road. Concrete Placement

Concrete placement will take place on the westbound sidewalk along Mount Auburn Street between Boylston Street to School Street.

Mt. Auburn St. Project: Sidewalk Reconstruction, Drainage and Tree Trench Installation

During the week of June 13-17, sidewalk work will continue in the areas of Elton Street, Winsor Avenue and Langdon Avenue. Drainage work will take place between Bates Road and Spruce Street, while tree trench installation will take place from Stearns Road and Spruce Street. Concrete placement will take place on the following westbound sidewalk locations starting along Mount Auburn Street:

617 Mount Auburn Street to Elton Street. On Mount Auburn Street from Winsor Avenue to Langdon Avenue.

Sidewalk Work Continues Along Parts of Mt. Auburn Street This Week

The focus of the Mt. Auburn Street Project this week will be sidewalk replacement between School Street and Hillside Road, as well as near Adams Street. There will also be drainage on Mt. Auburn between Bates Road adn Bailey Road.

Sidewalks will be torn up in some places, and repoured in other sections of Mt. Auburn Street in Coolidge Square during the week of June 22-26. Also, drainage will be installed in the area from Walnut Street to Spruce Street. See the impacts and other details in the announcement from the City of Watertown, below.

Coolidge Square Businesses Navigating Sidewalk Work During Mt. Auburn Street Project

Last week, looking out the window of her business, Artemis Yoga owner Liz Padula saw orange cones, yellow caution tape, gravel, and signs saying “no parking” and “sidewalk closed.” The construction zone — in front of the studio and other businesses on the block between Arlington Street and Bigelow Avenue — is part of the Mt. Auburn Street Project. In an effort to keep clients coming in, she decided to make some social media.
