Life Science Companies’ Collaboration With Watertown Schools Will be Featured at Event

The Watertown Business Coalition’s Life Science Panel returns on April 9 at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. See the WBC’s announcement below. The Fourth Annual WBC Life Science Panel this year is called “Learning to Love Science.” This years program will focus on the amazing partnership between Watertown High School and local life science companies, thanks to the hard work of our friend Merle Kummer and the board of “CoLAB.”

CoLAB is a nonprofit organization in Watertown, MA where local life science professionals and high school educators collaborate to inspire student interest in STEM careers – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math – and build new levels of STEM self-confidence. Watertown’s life science cluster continues to be a bigger part of Watertown’s economic growth – and students enrichment should be a part of that growth! WE WOULD LOVE FOR MOMS, DADS, STUDENTS and TEACHERS to join us!

Tradition of Giving Gifts to Kids in Need That was Started by Former Watertown Police Officer, Continues Today

Every year, days before Christmas, toys donated from around the community fill the Community Room at the Watertown Police Station in preparation to be distributed to families in need around the community. The drive is organized by the Sonny Whooley Foundation, named for a former Watertown Police officer known for his generosity, said David Collins, president of the Whooley Foundation. Over the years, the Whooley Foundation has helped thousands of families, Collins said.

Holiday Mixer & Toy Drive to be Hosted by Rotary & Watertown Business Coalition

The 2nd Annual Holiday Mixer and Toy Drive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Watertown and the Watertown Business Coalition will take place at the Mosesian Center for the Arts!

Cash bar

Admission is free to anyone bringing a toy to donate

Those coming without a toy are encouraged to bring a $20 (or more) donation to the Whooley Foundation

The event will be on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8:30 a.m. in the Community Room at the Police Station, 552 Main St., Watertown. The Watertown Business Coalition announced:

New Dental Practice Welcomed to Town With Ribbon Cutting by Watertown Business Coalition

Watertown’s newest dental practice marked its official opening last week with a ribbon cutting outside its office in Arsenal Yards. Arsenal Modern Dentistry moved into a spot right on Arsenal Street, which has already proven to be a good location, said Dr. Brock Riedel, who runs the practice with his partner, Dr. Anthony Falone.
