Police Log: Pair Break Into Apartment & Take $11K Valuables, Skimming Device Found in Bank ATM

July 1, 12:07 a.m.: An officer spotted a vehicle stopped facing the wrong way on Baptist Walk. The Jeep Grand Cherokee had its engine running and was facing toward Mt. Auburn Street, on the road which is one way the other direction. The driver appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel, and the officer had to knock several times to wake him.

June 19, 7:16 a.m.: A man parked his car on Mt. Auburn Street in front of Dunkin’ near Watertown Square but he was not fully in the spot. A passing car honked its horn to have him move his car. The man, identified as Yesner Espinal, gave the driver an obscene gesture and yelled at him.

Police Log: Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking, Man Attacked After Altercation at Boston Club

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

June 14, 1:15 p.m.: The Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force, which includes a Watertown detective, had been conducting a narcotics investigation. During the investigation, they observed a man driving on Rosedale Avenue whom they had probable cause to arrest. The man’s car was stopped at Rosedale Avenue near Acton Street. Inside the car, officers observed in plain view a small plastic bag with a white powdery substance that is believed to be fentanyl.

June 7, 10:27 p.m.: An officer clocked a vehicle driving 58 mph in a 30 mph zone on Waltham Street, near Evans Street. The driver was pulled over, and when officers spoke to him they discovered he did not have a driver’s license. Also, he had two outstanding arrest warrants. In addition, the plates that were on the vehicle belonged to another vehicle.

Incidents

May 29, 7:25 p.m.: A man discovered that someone used his Bank of America credit card at the Nike Store in Watertown. He reported that the card was stolen or lost on May 22, but he was not sure where. He looked at his statement and saw unauthorized purchases at the Nike Store for $57.98 on May 28. Other charges were made at the Nike store in Chestnut Hill for $192, at Finish Line in Cambridge for $201.56, at Footlocker in Cambridge for $140, and $269 at a CVS in Cambridge.

Police Log: Party Guest Gets Out of Control, Chimney Repair Scam

May 22, 3:39 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious man at Arsenal Mall. Security spotted a man looking into windows at Marshalls, and then was seen inside the parking garage. The man went into a port-o-potty and would not come out until police arrived. When he did, police spoke to the man and learned that he had a warrant for his arrest.

May 18, 5:57 p.m.: Officers patrolling on Arsenal Street near Greenough Boulevard spotted a man they knew to have a warrant for his arrest. Michael Halner, 40, of Watertown, was placed under arrest on the warrant out of Waltham District Court for two counts of threats to commit a crime. 

May 19, 3:18 p.m.: A shoplifter at Target left the store. Store security gave Police a description and officers located him at a bus stop on Arsenal Street. The man walked past the registers with a large tote bag which made a clanking sound as he walked.

May 12 11:51  a.m.: Police were called after two men were seen taking items from the toy and electronics sections at Target. The men had left before officers arrived, but one was located at the Residence Inn by Marriott, and the other at Dunkin’ on Arsenal Street. The first man, identified as Joshua Walsh, 35, of Middlborough, took headphones, a toy squirt gun and a backpack. Police found he had a warrant from Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
