Atrius Health announced this week that Brookline resident Steven Lampert, MD, MBA has been named Chief Clinical Officer for the organization, as well as Interim Senior Vice President of its Urban/River Region, including theHarvard Vanguard Medical Associates office in Watertown.
As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Lampert will work closely with Atrius Health’s Regional Medical Directors to ensure that day-to-day delivery of care meets system-wide standards and achieves organization-wide performance targets. In his role as Interim Senior Vice President of the Urban/River Region, Lampert will be responsible for the overall financial and clinical performance of the region, which includes Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates practices in Boston’s Kenmore neighborhood, Post Office Square, and Copley Square, as well as the practices in Medford, Somerville, Cambridge and Watertown, according to the announcement from Atrius.

Dr. Lampert began his medical career in 1982 at the Lown Cardiovascular Group in Brookline, MA as an associate cardiologist and later a partner. In 1994, Lampert joined Harvard Vanguard and became Chief of Cardiology in 1996, according to the announcement.
In 2001, he served as Chief of the Division of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s/Faulkner Hospital where he served on the Care Improvement Committee. Lampert was named Director of Medical Specialties for Harvard Vanguard in 2002, managing 12 medical specialty departments. Lampert received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Boston University. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
