The 10U Watertown Youth Softball team.

The Watertown Youth Softball teams wrapped up their fall season during a weekend in which they had to wrap up tight to beat the cold.

The 10U, 12U and 14U Fast-Pitch softball teams finished their Fall Season this past weekend. With morning temperatures in the 30’s and slowly warming to the low 40’s the girls competed with the Wellesley Raiders in double-header action on the frost covered fields.

The 10U girls lost the twin-bill but had two very competitive games going 7-5 and 5-3. The 12U girls were able to finish their season with two ‘W’s in a slugfest with scores of 16-15 and 13-12. And the 14U girls completed their 9-1 season in a convincing manner with scores of 16-0 and 18-1.

Next up for the girls is the Indoor Winter League which begins in November.

Cheerleading

Watertown High School’s football game against Wilmington provided a special opportunity for some young cheerleaders.

The Watertown-Belmont Youth Cheerleading team joined with the Watertown High School Cheerleaders to boost the Raiders’ spirits.

The Watertown-Belmont Youth Cheerleaders joined the Watertown High School cheerleaders during the Raiders’ game against Wilmington.

The Watertown High Varsity Cheerleading team is coached by Samantha England and Jennifer Ryan of Watertown, who are also the Watertown-Belmont Youth Cheerleading Directors and Coaches of the first and second graders.

Michelle Desjardin and Shannon Hogan, of Watertown, are the coaches of the third and fourth grade youth cheer team.

Matti McAdams, of Billerica, coaches the fifth and sixth grade youth cheer team. This was a very exciting and fun night for both programs.

  1. The cheerleaders worked really hard and the coaches did an amazing job getting them ready in such a short time!! Amazing job done by all!! It was a very fun and exciting night for everyone!!
