Watertown’s athletic teams wound up a successful spring season with state competitions this weekend.
Track & Field
Watertown senior Austin Lin turned in another fine performance, running the 400 meters in 48.84 to take third place Saturday at the All-State Meet at Westfield State College.
Lin will run again for the Raiders as part of the Watertown sprint relay team going to Outdoor High School Nationals in North Carolina later this month.
The boys 4 x 400 relay came in 11th in the meet, and senior Jeremy Breen finished 21st in the 800 meters.
On the girls’ side, Watertown sophomore Emily Koufos got 14th in the mile run, and senior Katherine Tolman finished 18th in the 400 meters.
The Raiders boys squad finished 43rd with six points. The girls team did not score any points.
Boys Lacrosse
The Raiders season ended Saturday with a 15-8 loss at Weston in the Central/East Div. 3 Section quarterfinal.
Like last season, the Raiders won their first tournament game before falling. Last year the team made it to the section semifinals. Watertown ends the season 7-11.
Girls Tennis
After winning their first round match, the Raiders traveled to Manchester-Essex where Watertown fell 5-0 on Saturday.
After a long tournament drought, the Raiders have made the tournament four straight years, but did not win a tournament match until this year. The squad finished the season 9-9.
