A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 11, 2016 in St. Patrick Church, Watertown at 9 a.m. for Mary C. (O’Connell) Bloomer.

Mrs. Bloomer, a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (McGovern) O’Connell was born in Boston. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday October 6, 2016, at the age of 83.

Mary was the loving wife of the late Harold J. Bloomer, who passed away at an early age of 54 in 1980. Mary was a graduate of Nazareth High School in South Boston. Later in life, Mary moved to Watertown where she was heavily involved with St. Patrick’s Parish.

As a young woman Mary devoted her life to her husband and children. Along with her family and the church, Mary also had a passion for bowling, traveling, walking, and animals. Mary was also known for her uncanny ability to find the best bargain around.

Beloved wife of the late Harold J. Bloomer died peacefully at home surrounded by family, friends, and beloved pet, Misty. Devoted mother of Jack Bloomer and wife Robin of Hopkinton, Kathleen Bloomer and partner Stacie Grove of Saco, Maine, Eileen Stanowicz and husband Paul of Waltham, Daniel Bloomer and wife Cheryl of Watertown, Mary-Kate Bloomer and Lou Reczek of Littleton, Karen Bloomer and Guinness of Watertown, and Michael Bloomer and wife Christine of Windham, NH. Dear sister to Dolly Kelly and sister-in- law Joan Mallis. Caring sister to several predeceased siblings and in-laws. Devoted grandmother to Brandon, Garrett and Aidan Stanowicz, Sean, Ryan, Timothy and Liam Bloomer. In addition, her loving and compassionate nature resulted in many referring to her affectionately as “Ma Bloomer.”

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Tuesday October 11, 2016 at 8 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.
