Watertown senior Vasken Kebabjian scored two touchdowns Friday night against in the Section Semifinal victory over Newburyport.

The Raiders kept on rolling through the MIAA football playoffs Friday night with a 27-10 victory over Newburyport in the North Section semifinal.

Watertown (8-1) got two touchdowns from senior co-captain Vasken Kebabjian in the win at Victory Field on Friday night.

The first came in the first quarter when he caught an 8-yard pass from senior quarterback Deon Smith to stake a 7-0 lead.

Newburyport (3-5) got a second quarter field goal, but the Raiders got to touchdowns to lead 20-3 at half. Senior Zach Rimsa scored from one-yard out, and then Kebabjian got his second ran one in from 28 yards out. The extra point was blocked.

Smith scored Watertown’s final touchdown on an 11-yard run. Newburyport got a late touchdown on a 54-yard pass from Jake Cahalane to Rob Shay.

The win returns the Raiders to the Div. 3 North Section final for the second straight year. Last year, Watertown’s tournament ended with a loss at Stoneham. This year, Watertown will host the Section Final on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Victory Field. They will take on second seeded Triton (7-2) with a berth in the Eastern Mass final against the South Section Champion.
