Watertown Boys & Girls Club members presented Pleasant Street Stop & Shop Manager Steve Farley with a plaque to thank him for providing their snacks each day.

Recently, Watertown Boys & Girls Club members received a visit from Steve Farley, the General Manager of Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street in Watertown, according to the Club. Members were very excited to see the man responsible for providing them with fresh fruit every day!

Starting in September of this year, Steve worked to develop a partnership between his store and the Boys & Girls Club. When he reached out to see how his store could help the Club, Executive Director, Renee Gaudette, explained their need for healthy after-school snacks. Steve generously agreed to donate boxes of apples, bananas, and oranges to the Club on a weekly basis.

The Club hosts upwards of 100 youth members each day. Because of Steve Farley and Stop & Shop, every one of those members gets a healthy after-school snack! Many members arrive for the afternoon directly from school and stay until the Club closes. Being able to have fruit after school, gives members the energy they need to run around in the gym and play in the games room!

During his visit, Steve was presented with a thank you plaque from the Club as a token of their appreciation.
