The WPD put out the following announcement:

We cordially invite you to participate in the 4th annual Watertown Police Finish Strong 5K road race and walk. This event will support the Watertown Police Relief Committee and the Watertown Police Supervisors Association. The Watertown Police Relief Association was organized in 1936 and changed to the Watertown Police Relief Committee in 2008. Our membership is comprised of sworn personnel, regardless of rank, as well as all retired officers.

WPRC was established for the purposes of assisting the families of deceased members and protecting and promoting the social and economic welfare of their families and dependents.

The Race/Walk will be on Sunday April 30, 2017 at 10:30 am at Tufts Health Plan 705 Mount. Auburn Street Watertown. www.watertownstrong4.racewire.com

This race was initially established due to the events occurring in Watertown following the Boston Marathon Bombings. It has since grown into a very popular community event for both residents of Watertown and the surrounding communities.
