Thomas “Tubba” Maloney

A Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of St. Patrick, Watertown on Monday, April 10, 2016 at 9 a.m. for Thomas F. “Tubba” Maloney.

Tom was the son of the late Thomas F. Maloney and Sarah L. (Doyle) Maloney. He passed away Tuesday evening in Concord after a period of declining health. Thomas was 82.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Tobin). Thomas and Patricia were married on May 10, 1958. The two of them were happily married for 58 years before Tom’s passing.

Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on April 15, 1954. He received the rank of Sergeant during his active duty in the Marines. He defended our nation with pride and honor during the Korean Conflict before receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.

After his service, Thomas began his career in the Watertown Fire Department. He received his degree in Fire Science while raising five children. Tom made the rank of Captain in the Watertown Fire Department. He retired in 1993.

He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom was overall an active person; he enjoyed golf, softball, and loved to coach sports.

Beloved husband of Patricia A. (Tobin). Devoted father of Thomas F. (Cathy) of Norwood, Claire L. of Maynard, Nancy P. Donahue (Bob) of Stoneham, Timothy G. (Paige) of Orchard Park NY, and David P. (Renee) of Londonderry NH.

Dear brother of Eleanor Gould of Sandwich, Mary Casella of Townsend, John Maloney of Waltham, Catherine Bryden of Waltham, and the late Carol Dowd. Loving grandfather of ten grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 10th, 2017 at 9:00 am in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Relatives & friend kindly invited.

Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.

Visiting hours, Sunday 2-6 p.m.
