Mount Auburn Hospital Presents A Matter of Balance Falls Prevention Workshop
8 week class starts Friday, May 5
WHAT: Many older adults are concerned about falling and, as a result restrict their activities. Mount Auburn Hospital recognizes this concern and offers, a customized program to help patients prevent and manage their falls, while staying or becoming more active. Beginning in May, the hospital is pleased to present the A Matter of Balance workshop, an eight-week group focused on learning to view falls as controllable. Participants will set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and learn exercises to increase strength and balance.
This program will teach practical strategies to manage falls. You will learn to:
- View falls as controllable
- Set goals for increasing activity
- Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
- Exercise to increase strength and balance
