This year’s Memorial Day activities include veterans visiting schools, pacing of wreaths and the ever popular Memorial Day Parade.

Watertown Veterans Agent Mark Comeiro announced the schedule for Memorial Day Week.

2017 Memorial Day Week Activities:

Placing of Flags:

WEDNESDAY: 24 May2017 at 5:00 pm:  Meet at Ridgelawn Cemetery

*RAIN DATE THURSDAY MAY 25, 2017*

Flags will be placed at veterans’ graves at all Watertown cemeteries by Veteran organizations and Volunteers

FRIDAY 26 MAY 2017: Veterans School Visitation:

8:45 a.m. – Lowell Elementary School

9:00 a.m. – Watertown High School

9:30 a.m. – Cunniff Elementary School

10:00 a.m. – Watertown Middle School

11:00 a.m. – Hosmer Elementary School

SUNDAY 28 MAY 2017: Morning Services and Dedications:

7:00 a.m.   – Cottage Street Cemetery

7:10 a.m. – Coolidge Square POW/MIA Monument

7:15 a.m.  – Arlington Street Cemetery

7:30 a.m.    – WWI Memorial Stone – (front of Shutt Detachment)

7:45 a.m.    – Common Street Cemetery

8:00 a.m.   – Charles River Float

8:10 a.m. – World War II Memorial Stone (front of Town Hall)

8:30 a.m.   – Saltonstall Park

 

8:55 a.m.    –  Moxley Field (AMVETS Post 14)

9:10 a.m.    –  Ridgelawn Cemetery

9:30 a.m.    – St. Patrick's Cemetery

10:00 a.m. – Veteran’s Mass at St. Patrick’s Church

MONDAY 29 MAY 2017: Parade:

10:30a.m – 11:30a.m. – Parade Check-in at TUFTS Parking lot

12:00p.m. – Parade Begins

(A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Saltonstall Park, next to Town Hall following the parade.)
