The start of classes for the Watertown Public Schools is just around the corner, and teachers and staff will be in training starting Wednesday.
School starts for students on Tuesday, Sept. 5, the day after Labor Day. There will be six early release days for all schools, the first of which will be on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The first day off is Columbus Day, on Monday, Oct. 9. Along with the regular holidays, there will two days off for students while teachers and staff go through professional development: Nov. 7 and Jan. 16.
There will be afternoon and evening conferences with teachers for the elementary and middle schools. The afternoon dates, with early releases, for K-8 are on Dec. 7, Dec. 14, March 16 and March 20.
Evening conferences will be held on Dec. 6, Dec. 12, March 22 and March 28 for the elementary schools. Middle school conferences are on Dec. 5, Dec. 12, March 13 and March 27. Conferences at the high school will be on Nov. 29, Dec. 7, March 22 and March 28.

If you have not registered for school, here is information about how to register your child.
Through Friday, registration for PreK-Grade 5 will be done at the registrar’s office, Room 205, 30 Common St., Watertown. To make an appointment call 617-972-4216. Hours are Monday to Thursday noon-4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-noon. Starting Sept. 5, the Registrar’s office hours are: Mondays & Thursdays: 8 a.m.-noon; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 12:15 p.m.-4 p.m.
