A couple of Watertown businesses had special Halloween celebrations. See photos of the fun. 

The Comic Stop hosted a Halloween event on Oct. 28, including giving out free comic books, face-painting, food and doodles by Watertown’s Fred Grandinetti. Brandon Stumpf was Spider-Man. Eric Petersen was Venom.

Watertown Mall Scarecrow Contest

The Mermaid Scarecrow created by Stepping Stones Child Care in Watertown took first place in the Watertown Mall’s contest.

The Watertown Mall announced the winners of the 26th annual Scarecrow Contest.

The scarecrows were created by local classes, businesses and families, and shoppers voted for their favorite scarecrow. This year there were 12 entries.

The Duffy Brothers from Waltham created Spongebob Scardy Pants. It took second place in the Mall’s Scarecrow Contest.

The third place winner was Ms. McGrath’s fifth grade class from St. Jude’s in Waltham. The second place winner was the Duffy Brothers from Waltham and in first place was the Mermaid Scarecrow by Stepping Stones Child Care in Watertown.

The third place winner in the Watertown Mall’s Scarecrow Contest was Batman, created by Ms. McGrath’s fifth-grade class at St. Jude’s School in Waltham.
