Watertown Students Graduate, Earn Honors at Their Colleges & Universities

Watertown residents graduated from Salve Regina, WPI, James Madison, and Trine. Local students earned honors at Springfield College, Ohio State, Assumption, Emmanuel, Fairfield, and Quinnipiac.

Graduates

Salve Regina University

On May 17, on the oceanside campus of Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, Dr. Kelli J. Armstrong, president, conferred 525 bachelor’s degrees upon the Class of 2026 at the University’s 76th Commencement. These local students were among them.

WPI

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during its 157th Commencement exercises, honoring graduates whose innovation, perseverance, and purpose-driven achievements will help shape the future. Ceremonies were held on May 14 and 15 at the DCU Center, where WPI awarded nearly 1,200 bachelor’s degrees, over 600 master’s degrees, and more than 60 doctoral degrees to graduates across a broad spectrum of disciplines in science, engineering, technology, business, and the humanities. Together, these graduates join a global network of WPI changemakers prepared to lead with knowledge, creativity, and impact.

The following students earned their bachelor’s degree:

Watertown resident Adam Patterson who majored in Civil Engineering

Watertown resident Aidan Flanagan who majored in Civil Engineering

James Madison University

Margaret Rynne of Watertown graduated with a degree(s) in Health Sciences – BS from James Madison University during commencement exercises in May 2026.

Rynne was among 4,737 students who received undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Trine University

Xiyuan Li of Watertown completed requirements for a degree from Trine University at the end of the Spring 2026 semester.

Li earned a degree in Master of Business Administration at Trine.

Honors

Springfield College

Springfield College has named Nathan Master from Watertown, MA to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the 2026 spring semester.

Master has a primary major of Movement & Sport Studies.

The criteria for selection to the Dean’s List are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of “P” grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term. Student must not have been barred from Dean’s List due to disciplinary action.

Ohio State University

Matthew Scott Brown of Watertown made the Dean’s List at Ohio State University, Columbus Campus.

A student is awarded Dean’s List when the student has earned a GPA for the semester or academic term of 3.5 or higher while enrolled full time — 12 or more hours of classes.

Assumption University

Assumption University has announced that Isabella Sadkowski, of Watertown, has been named to the University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2026 semester. Students named to the Dean’s List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

Emmanuel College

Lena Karaguesian, of Watertown was recently inducted into Psi Chi, an international honor society in psychology.

Psi Chi is an international honor society dedicated to excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. The honor society is open to psychology students who have earned a cumulative GPA that is in the top 35% of their class and have a minimum 3.0 GPA average for psychology courses. Emmanuel College inducted 59 students to Psi Chi this spring.

Fairfield University

The following Fairfield University students from Watertown received Dean’s List Honors for the Spring 2026 semester.

In order to be placed on the Dean’s List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.

Quinnipiac University

The following Watertown student was named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2026 semester at Quinnipiac University:

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester. Names followed by an asterisk denotes with honors.
