The 82nd annual Mount Auburn Hospital Auxiliary’s morning lecture series begins this week and features experts in a variety of fields. 

The group sent out the following information:

WHAT: Mount Auburn Hospital Auxiliary’s 82nd annual Thursday Morning Talks Series will begin this month. The 2018 lecture series will feature experts who cover a wide variety of topics including: health care reform, the environment, education and gender equality.

WHEN: Every ThursdayJanuary 11 – February 22, 2018

10:15am: Bouillon reception

11:00am: Talk begins

*The January 11 talk will began at 11:30am and bouillon will be available at 10:45am

January 11: Donald Berwick, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Health Care Policy in the Department of Pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School and Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health,”What Should ‘Health Care Reform’ Mean?”

January 18: Bill McKibben, Environmentalist, Author, and Journalist, “The Hottest Fight in the Hottest Decade.”

January 25: David Wilkins, Professor, Harvard Law School, “The Future of Professionals and Professionalism in the Global Age of More for Less: Lessons from the Legal Profession.”

February 1: John Merrow, Former Education Correspondent for the PBS News Hour and founding President of Learning Matters, Inc., “Addicted to Reform: A 12-Step Program to Rescue Public Education.”

February 8: Paula Johnson, Physician and President, Wellesley College, “Free Expression: Beyond Rights, Beyond Words”

February 15: Iris Bohnet, Professor and Author, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, “What Works: Gender Equality by Design.”

February 22: Megan O’Sullivan, Professor, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, “Windfall: How the New Energy Abundance Upends Global Politics and Strengthens America’s Power.”

Through a partnership with the Harvard Coop, books by some of the speakers will be available for sale and signing after each lecture.

COST: The Talks are open to the public. Tickets are available by subscription or at a cost of $20 per lecture at the door.
