Children can get to know members of the Watertown Police Department and have some fun during the Cops & Rec programs.

There are three programs which are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Cops & Rec Basketball League

The Watertown Recreation and Police Department are collaborating to offer a summer basketball league. The general objectives of the program are to promote sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun and positive setting, while focusing on basketball fundamentals. There will be a girls league and a boys league. A schedule of games will be played each week between the teams that are formed.

Who: Girls and Boys Grades: 7-9 (Fall ’18)

When: Tuesdays, June 12 to August 7, 2018. Meets once a week for 8 weeks. No program 7/3/18

Time: 6 – 7 p.m. Girls
7:15 – 8:15 p.m. Boys

Where: Casey Park

Fee: $25 (Watertown Residents only)

Registration is on a first come first serve basis Limit is 40 participants per league

Cops & Rec Street Hockey

The Watertown Recreation and Police Department are collaborating to offer a summer street hockey program. The general objectives of the program are to promote sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun and positive setting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the rules and fundamentals of street hockey such as stick handling and shooting.

Who: Grades 1-9 (Fall ’18)

When: Wednesdays, June 13 to August 8, 2018

Meets once a week for 8 weeks. No program on 7/4/18.

Time: Grade 1-3 Coed: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Grade 4-6 Coed: 6:45 – 7:45 p.m.
Grade 7-9 Coed: 8 – 9 p.m.

Where: Casey Park

Fee: $25 (Watertown Residents only)

Registration is on a first come first serve basis Maximum of 24 participants per session

Cops & Rec Middle School Rock Climbing

The Watertown Recreation and Police Department are partnering with Central Rock Gym in Watertown to organize a rock climbing program. The objectives of the program are to give middle school students the chance to learn the fundamentals of rock climbing and rock climbing safety. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothes (shorts, t-shirts, athletic shoes, nothing baggy). All climbing equipment will be provided by Central Rock Gym!

Who: Boys and Girls Grades 6-8

When: Tuesdays May 15 – June 19, 2018 (6 weeks)

Time: 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Where: Central Rock Gym, 74 Acton St., Watertown

Fee: $80 Residents Only
