A Watertown man faces his second drunken driving charge after he struck a boy riding a bicycle just off Waverley Avenue on March 17.

Just before 6 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, the 10-year-old boy was riding his bike across Bradshaw Street at Waverley Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a man later identified as Michael Marini, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor.

“Marini turned onto Bradshaw from Waverley,” O’Connor said. “The child suffered minor injuries and was transported to a Boston hospital.”

When police spoke to Marini, he showed signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath, O’Connor said. He failed four field sobriety tests. Police discovered Marini had a prior OUI arrest.

Michael Marini, 42, of Watertown, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol — a second offense, and a crosswalk violation.
