WHS Sports: Lacrosse Teams in Tourney Action, Baseball Makes the Post Season

The Watertown High School boys and girls lacrosse teams both made the State Tournament this year, and each had to travel to Weston for their first round games.

The boys got the 11th seed in the Div. 3 Central/East Section tourney and played No. 6 seed Weston on Monday Night. The Raiders fell 14-6 in the first round game, and finished the season with a record of 8-9.

Tuesday night, the girls team was in action. The 12th seeded Raiders took on fifth seeded Weston in the first round of the Div. 2 East Tournament, but lost 22-10. Watertown finished the season with a record of 5-16.

Baseball Selected for Tourney

Watertown High School has another team in the State Tournament, with the baseball team making the tournament as the 21st seed in the Div. 3 North bracket.

The Raiders will travel to face 12th-seed Essex Tech on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Preliminary Round game. Watertown comes in with a record of 6-14. The winner of the game faces Saugus in the next round.
