Despite the rainy weather on Thanksgiving morning, the 2019 Donohue’s Turkey Trot drew a record number of runners and walkers for the annual 5K run and walk.

Donohue’s owner John Donohue announced that the number of participants eclipsed the 1,000 mark, more participants than any of the previous 13 editions.

Turkey Trot participants withstood rainy and chilly weather in 2019.

Many runners huddled inside Donohue’s Bar & Grill before the race to escape the wet, chilly conditions. Before the race began, Donohue reminded participants that it could be much worse.

“It feels like Hawaii compared to last year,” Donohue said, referring to the sub-freezing, windy weather which runners braved a year ago

Jared Forman won the 2019 Donohue’s Turkey Trot in a time of 16:42. In second place was James Garbier, who ran the course in 16:59, and Bruno Piazzarolo finished in 17:31 for third place.

The fastest female runner was Hayley Sutter, who finished in 18:46. The second fastest woman was Jessica Donnarumma, who just beat out Emily Koufos. Both recorded times of 19:56.

Donohue’s held a much shorter race for the youngest children.
