Hatch, the Watertown Library’s makerspace, is offering a class on computer design, is seeking artists to run workshops and has a list of ongoing classes in the month of March.

The following information was provided by Hatch:

Hatch hours: Monday-Thursday, 1-9 pm | Friday-Sunday 1-4 pm
Hours are updated regularly online: watertownlib.org/hatch

Hatch Makerspace is located at 20 Summer Street in Watertown, MA. An extension of the Watertown Free Public Library, it is a public workshop with space, equipment, and materials available for your use.

Call for yarn donations!

Do you have unused yarn laying around? Bring it to Hatch or the main library, we’ll take it all! We’re working to implement an exciting civic engagement project that will be announced in the coming months so stay tuned!

Call to Local Artists! 

Hatch is looking for 1-2 hour Fine Art and craft workshops. Workshop ideas should be introductory level and engage a broad audience. Contact Liz to learn more: ehelfer@watertown-ma.gov

Drop-ins are weekly themed sessions that are designed to give you insight into the subject matter. This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn from our volunteers, they are not workshops.

Mondays 3-6 pm, Fiber Arts
Need help with that sewing project? Haven’t picked up your knitting needles in awhile? Get help or get started.

Wednesdays 7-9 pm, Fix It
Learn to fix your broken things, with an emphasis on electronics and robotics. Bring, brainstorm, and build.

Thursdays 6-9 pm, Open Code
Get help coding with Python, OpenSCAD, LEGO Mindstorms, HTML, CSS, and more. For beginners and pros.
