Some Watertown Groups to Help on #GivingTuesday

Dec. 1 is Giving Tuesday and Watertown has a number of organizations that are seeking donations. See information about the groups and how to give below.

Mosesian Center for the Arts

The Watertown-based arts center sent out information, including:

Your support is crucial right now. Your generous donation will help ensure that MCA continues through the coming months and into the years ahead. You’ll be sustaining quality and affordable arts programming with an increasing online presence and plans to resume in person when we can gather safely again. You’ll commit to supporting a positive, inclusive, artistic home where spirits and lives—young and old, of all backgrounds and abilities—change for the better in our community and beyond.

Perkins School for the Blind

The school that has been in town for more than a century sent out the following information in an email:

It’s #GivingTuesday, and we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 by MIDNIGHT tonight to support our work for children and adults who are blind.

And remember, every dollar you donate will be MATCHED.

One way your support helps children is through the Assistive Device Center (ADC), which has been creating custom-made adaptive equipment for more than three decades.

When our campus closed for COVID-19, ADC volunteers stepped up in a BIG way by opening studios in their homes to continue our critical work.

Thanks to our intrepid team of crafty volunteers, every student – wherever they were learning, no matter their unique challenges – had the tools and materials they needed to continue their education uninterrupted.

Watertown Community Foundation

The Watertown Community Foundation awards grants for educational programs, health programs, revitalization of the riverfront, and provides emergency assistance for families in crisis. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=J2RRW9Z586W6S&source=url

It also provides swim lessons and hosts some of the Cops and Rec programs with the Watertown Police and the Watertown Recreation Department.
