A Funeral Mass for Francis M. Mooney will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 9 a.m. in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.
Mr. Mooney was a son of the late George and Mary (MacLellan) Mooney. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Watertown High School and Boston College, class of 1963. He passed away Tuesday morning in the Mount Auburn Hospital after a lengthy illness, age 74.
After college, Francis enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving 12 years, reaching the rank of Captain. Before retiring, he worked for the Commonwealth of Mass as a therapist in the mental health program. Fran was an avid reader, loved sports and family reunions.
He was the loving son of the late George & Mary (MacLellan) Mooney. Devoted brother of Florence N. Gullotti of Burlington, Shirley E. Condon & her husband William of Hudson and the late Doris Mooney. Also loved by 2 nieces & 2 nephews.
Funeral from the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. in Watertown on Friday Jan. 16, at 8 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Thursday 3-7 p.m.
