Watertown College Students Earn Spring 2026 Honors, Graduate

Watertown students earned honors at Dean College, URI, WPI, Saint Anselm, and Maryland Global Campus; and graduated from Georgia Tech and Hartford.

The following information came from the colleges and universities.

Honors

Dean College

Isabella Nitschke of Watertown has earned a place on the President’s List for the Spring 2026 semester. Students named to the President’s List have demonstrated a serious commitment to their studies while at Dean College. The President’s List recognizes full-time students who have earned a perfect semester grade point average (GPA) of 4.0.

University of Rhode Island

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that several area students have been named to its Spring 2026 Dean’s List. Among them are:

Madi Platt of Watertown

Amanda Tran of Watertown

To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 through 3.79 grade point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 through 3.79 grade point average.


The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that Brenna Aiello of Watertown has been named to its Spring 2026 President’s List.

To be included on the President’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.80 through 4.0 grade point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.80 through 4.0 grade point average.

WPI

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced the university’s Dean’s List for academic excellence for the spring 2026 semester.

The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI students are named to the Dean’s List based on the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and hands-on projects.

Watertown, Massachusetts resident Jinsei Murakawa, class of 2028, majoring in Mechanical Engineering

Watertown, Massachusetts resident Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick, class of 2027, majoring in Mechanical Engineeringn

Watertown, Massachusetts resident Mushegh Arshakuni, class of 2029, majoring in Mechanical Engineering

Saint Anselm

Saint Anselm College has released the Dean’s List of high academic achievers for the second semester of the 2025-2026 school year. 

Among those named to the Dean’s List is Kristen Coleman, a Theology Major from Watertown, Massachusetts.

To be eligible for this honor, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or better in the semester with at least 12 credits of study which award a letter grade. This semester, a total of 721 students from 25 states and five countries were recognized.

University of Maryland Global Campus

During the 2025-26 academic year, University of Maryland Global Campus recognized Jennie Murack of Watertown for service on the Student Insight Council.

Volunteers play a vital role in shaping the UMGC experience by providing feedback that helps create a stronger future for the university community.

Graduates

University of Hartford

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce that Caleb Orvik of Watertown has been awarded the degree of Master of Music in Jazz Studies from The Hartt School.

1,093 UHart students were awarded graduate and undergraduate degrees this spring as part of the Class of 2026.

Georgia Tech

Jared Detwiler of Watertown, MA, has earned a Master of Science in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Detwiler was among 7,129 undergraduate and graduate students to be presented Georgia Tech degrees during the Institute’s 270th Commencement exercises May 7 – 9, 2026, at McCamish Pavilion (Ph.D. and bachelor’s) and Bobby Dodd Stadium (master’s).
