Tour YardArt Watertown
March 5 – April 2
See what Watertown residents created in a town-wide exhibit. All of the creations will be visible from the road or sidewalk, map coming soon!

Build Your Own Escape Room
March – April
Looking for something fun to do at home this spring? Join other makers to create your own DIY escape room to swap with other households! You’ll get a starter kit with craft materials, and we’ll host a workshop to talk about puzzle ideas and creating a thematic or narrative focus for your escape room. Hatch will also help you make props using our printer, laser cutter, and 3D printer. Bring your completed kit back to us for testing and borrow a different kit to play with for two weeks!

Sign up by March 8th. Starter kit pickup March 29 – April 2. Workshop on April 2nd. Drop off your DIY escape room April 19-23. Pick up a different DIY escape room April 26-30. Keep it for two weeks and rotate. Completed kits will become available in the Library of Things.

Build a Bunny with Liz
Tuesday, March 2, 5pm
Welcome Spring with a cute fleece bunny. Learn basic hand-sewing techniques to assemble and decorate your own stuffed animal. Great for all ages.

Registrants will automatically have one Bunny kit reserved for them. Details for curbside pickup will be emailed after registration. Kits include a pattern, fleece, hand sewing needles, pins, stuffing, buttons, and ribbon.

Intro to 3D Design with Dorie
Wednesday, March 10, 7pm
Learn the basics of 3D design using Onshape, a free CAD application. The design process is the first step towards creating original 3D prints and prototypes. Once your original 3D design is complete, get it printed for free.

Intro to Watercolor with Yi Bin
Monday, March 15, 6pm
Learn basic watercolor techniques to create beautiful still life and landscape paintings.

Registrants will automatically have a Watercolor kit reserved for them. Kits include 1 set of watercolor paints, 1 brush, and watercolor paper.

Intro to Arduino with David
Monday, March 22, 7pm
In Arduino 102, learn how to get started using Arduino hardware and software. Explore the practical applications of Arduino and build several different projects! This demonstration is most helpful for beginners with some programming experience.

Registrants will automatically have one Arduino kit reserved for them. Kits include 1 Arduino, 1 breadboard, 1 switch, 10 resistors, 2 photo-resistors, 8 jumper wires, and LED diodes.

Bridgerton Bags with Cheryl
Friday, March 26, 7pm
Netflix’s show Bridgerton has started a fashion trend towards “Regencycore” clothing and accessories – frilly, fancy, and cute as a button. We will make a drawstring reticule, as those little drawstring bags were called, and trim it out with lace, ribbon, and tassels.

Registrants will automatically have one Bridgerton Bag kit reserved for them. Kits include fabric, thread, lace, ribbon, and tassels.

Hatch Makerspace is located at 20 Summer Street in Watertown, MA. An extension of the Watertown Free Public Library, it is a public workshop with space, equipment, and materials available for your use.
