  1. As of late when the word equity is used, it doesn’t mean equal. It is a term that Marxist leaning individuals and groups use to spread their desire to fundamentally change our country to something that most of us don’t want. It means redistributing wealth and property from those who worked hard for what they have to people who often don’t have the same work ethic or desire to individually contribute to society or get ahead on their own. This type of health care tends to make more services available to all at the expense of those who can pay for it and the care goes down. Look at Canada – they are still pretty much locked down because most of their population has only received one vax shot and won’t get the second one until later in July. With their socialist medicine, people wait long periods of time to get certain operations and treatments. Many of them come to the US to get medical help. We have the best health care in the world and I personally don’t want to see this go away under a new progressive plan. The elites in every society are for all these plans because they have the means to have private health care or have golden government plans that provide them with the best of health care. They don’t really care about the rest of us. Let’s not allow them to deceive us and make changes that we will not be happy with, especially as our population ages.

    • Actually Canada only had 25,939 deaths due to COVID. Plus many in US go to India to get their surgeries these days instead of going bankrupt from all their very hard work(I agree there are many. hard working folks!). The issue is that most of us(me included) are only one serious illness(even with insurance) away from losing most of our savings. There is something seriously wrong with this IMO. I don’t have the exact answer but the current system is broken. Basic Health care is not a Marxist ideal though socialist but only if we believe that every other developed market-based economy in the world is socialist since the U.S. is the only one without universal coverage. We can do better and it need not look like other countries but our country(USA) deservers to have basic Health care.

    • Agree. Spent half of my life in a country where healthcare is free for all. It is mediocre at best. Many do not believe in healthy lifestyles, that drains the resources. Health care professionals are not getting the adequate training and latest technology. It is far from ideal.

  2. “A Concerned Citizen” who committed first is absolutely correct. Equity and equality mean two very different things. We have the best healthcare in the world. We can improve it but not change it to socialized medicine.
Who is this Justice and peace organization?
Where did it come from? Who runs it? What is its mission statement? Let’s think carefully before we jump in the wagon to USSR!!!
