Watertown Police Fun Run Returns in 2022, See How to Join

The Watertown Police Department announced the return of the WPD Finish Strong 5K after a two-year break.

The event will be held on Sunday, May 22. There will be a few changes, including the location of the start/finish line. This year it will begin at one of the new eateries at Arsenal Yards.

The Watertown Police sent out the following announcement:

Calling all runners, walkers, and spectators. After a two-year hiatus, the WPD Finish Strong 5K is back!! This awesome community event will start and finish from City Works, 91 Arsenal Yards Blvd. on Sunday, May 22 at 11:00. As a bonus this year, everyone who pre-registers will receive a free race shirt. Grab a friend or put a group together and sign up to run/walk. This event directly supports the Watertown Police Relief Committee, the Watertown Police Association and the Watertown Police Supervisors Association.

The race started following the Boston Marathon Bombing and shootout and lockdown in Watertown. The Watertown Police Relief Association was established for the purposes of assisting the families of deceased members and protecting and promoting the social and economic welfare of their families and dependents.
