Police Log: Man Caught Taking Items from Nike, Resident Reports Scam Email

The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Police Department.

May 1, 12 p.m.: The manager at Nike reported that a man came into the store with a Target shopping bag and placed a shoe box in and left without paying. A pair of Jordan low sneakers worth $115 was taken.

May 2, 6 p.m.: A man came into Nike and took a Tech Fleece sweatshirt priced at $140 and a pair of sneakers worth $75.

May 2, 8 p.m.: A woman was seen going into Target and took $295 worth of merchandise, including clothing and cosmetics.

May 3, 5:48 p.m.: A Whitney Street resident reported that she received an email from a company thanking her for her order, but she had not placed one. She found a number in the email and called it. She did not have any money taken, but they did ask her for some personal information. She reported it when she realized it was a scam.

May 4, 11:30 a.m.: A man was seen in Nike taking a box of sneakers off the rack. He left the store with two pairs of Air Jordan sneakers, one priced at $200 and the other $180.

May 5, 6:30 p.m.: A man went into Target and took five bags of dog food worth a total of $220.

May 6: Police were called to a business on Mt. Auburn Street and discovered a man had several arrest warrants. Toros Torrossian, 59, of Watertown, was arrested on seven warrants from Waltham District Court for trespassing.

May 6, 12:15 p.m.: A man went into Nike and took three T-shirts and a pair of shoes, and a fleece sweatshirt worth a total of $163. He was caught and taken into custody. Jahvion Price, 35, of Roxbury, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
