While most of the fun in town takes place on Saturday, happy hour at City Works comes with half price bar bites every workday, so why not start your weekend with a few fried pickles and some popcorn chicken? Saturday afternoon there is a board game social at Deaf, Inc. which is open to all who love some table-top dice thowing, card playing or bingo card dabbing. Saturday night there is a concert at First Parish Church called Hub of the Musiverse 4. Even the name of the concert is interesting! For those with young children, take them to the Mosesian to be inspired to sing like whoever-their-favorite-singer is for a Watertown Children’s Theatre vocal concert. And Sunday afternoon, it’s time to eat Armenian treats, listen to Armenian music and dance the day away at the St. James Annual Armenian Festival.
HAPPY HOUR at CITY WORKS
Friday, June 6, 3-6 p.m.
City Works, 91 Arsenal Yards Blvd.
Do you get off work early enough to head to City Works at Arsenal Yards before six? The drinks are full price, as Massachusetts has a ban on happy hour drink discounts, but the bar bites are half price, and who doesn’t love fried pickles, fried cheese curds, pretzel bites (with a beer cheese sauce) and popcorn chicken? It doesn’t make the most balanced dinner, but it’s a fun way to treat yourself to an early evening snack to welcome in the weekend.
