The park next to Watertown’s City Hall has reopened after being under construction since 2024.

The Saltonstall Park project includes landscaping upgrades, improving pedestrian accessible walkways, and enhancing the streetscape with benches and dark sky compliant lighting, according to the project webpage. Construction on the covered performing space is still underway.

See details, and a video, from the City of Watertown, below.

Saltonstall Park, next door to Watertown City Hall at 149 Main Street, is open after being renovated! This video was taken starting at the entrance on Whites Ave, on the new sidewalk through the park, and down the steps near City Hall, with views from one side to the other to show the updates. (The Canopy at the Pavillion will be installed at a later date.)

Please join us in the new park now that it’s open, at the Watertown Farmers’ Market from Opening Day starting June 10, 2026, and every Wednesday through October 21, 2026, and in the evenings for the Summer Concert Series, also on Wednesdays, from July 1-September 2, 2026.

Thank you to the men and women who worked on this updated park, including City staff, Department of Public Works staff, the park designers, and the workers who constructed it during extremely cold and hot temperatures and everything in between, and everyone else involved.

Enjoy the Park!
