Watertown Walks

NOTE NEW TIME

Thursdays, May 7, 14, 21, 28
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Meetup at lower Saltonstall Park, next to Watertown City Hall

May 7th – City Happenings / Project Literacy
Take a Walk with Janet Saied, Watertown’s Project Literacy Director and learn more about Watertown’s diverse population and how you can get involved. The walk will provide a deeper appreciation for the people and programs that make Watertown vibrant and learn about the history of Project Literacy and the variety of volunteer opportunities, from tutoring and classroom support to helping facilitate conversation groups. Come learn how patience, curiosity and building connections across cultures can have a meaningful impact.

May 14th – WellnessWalk / Kristina Courage
Rescheduled from 4/30/26 due to rain.
Week 4 – Flexibility & Muscular Balance – Practice four to five key stretches and movements designed to support comfortable, efficient walking.

May 21st – Public Arts & Culture Walk / Community Sculpture
Amble down the Community Path and discover (or rediscover) eight sculptures on loan from locally, regionally, and nationally acclaimed artists

May 28th – Community Walk
Meet up with walk buddies for a self-directed walk along the river or through the neighborhoods—no facilitator, no set theme, just a relaxed opportunity to connect. Come enjoy some community time, get moving, and share the walk with friends and colleagues.

Weekly programs will include movement, conversation, and opportunities to connect, interact, and explore the greater community. The walking portion of these programs will be approximately 30 – 40 minutes, and we encourage attendees to walk at a comfortable pace. Note location of meet-up which varies.

Walks will not take place if it’s raining or if there is a heat advisory.

Each month will feature city happenings, health and wellness, arts & culture, and community/business assets (some walks will be in collaboration with the Watertown Public Arts & Culture Committee and Watertown Business Coalition).
