
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
May 11: Toyota of Watertown reported a check fraud case. The dealership had written a check for $20,491 to Sullivan Tire on May 5, and sometime between then and May 8 the check was intercepted and the “pay to” line was changed. Police are investigating.
May 11: Target security stopped a man and a woman who took $210 in clothing and health and beauty items. The two were summoned to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny under $1,200.
May 12: A resident was scammed while trying to sign up for an online class. The person lost $400.
May 12: A man went into Target and took $150 in grocery items. He was stopped, the items were returned to the store, and the man was trespassed from the store.
May 13: A resident discovered someone stole their identity and took out a credit card in their name. The card had $8,000 in charges on it.
May 13: A woman was stopped while shoplifting at Target. She took $180 in beauty products and groceries. She returned the items and was trespassed from the store.
May 14: A resident received a text from Chase Bank asking to validate a charge. Someone was attempting to charge $919 on the person’s card.
May 14: A damaged car hood was left in a dumpster at the Atrium School. Police are investigating.
May 14: Two checks were placed in a mailbox on Galen Street and later the owner of the account discovered the checks were changed and made out to someone else. One was for $2,500 and the second for $18,000.
May 14: A man was seen taking $40 in items from Target. Police are investigating.
May 14: Two women were seen taking $100 in beauty products from Target. The property was returned and no charges were made.
May 15: A shoplifter was seen taking groceries at Roche Bros.
May 17: A tow truck driver was towing cars from Arsenal Street when a man came out to confront him. They got into an argument, and the man pulled out a baton-shaped taser and threatened the tow truck driver. The tow truck driver left and then flagged down a police officer to report the incident. The man with the taser was located and Officer Don Pham placed Yun Li, 23, of New York City, under arrest for assault with a dangerous weapon.
May 17: A suspicious male was reported at Casey Park. Officer Devon Shatkin responded and discovered that the man had several warrants for his arrest. Tierry Santos, 36, of New Bedford, was arrested on four warrants from Wareham District Court for trespassing, and one from Falmouth District Court for trespassing.
May 17: A man tried to take a microphone from Best Buy. The item worth $100 was recovered. He was trespassed from the store.
