Watertown’s Papas Elite Summer Basketball League tipped off the post season on Tuesday night, with the winners moving on to the best-of-three semifinals.
The league features current and former college basketball players. Game 1 of the semifinals series will be played on Wednesday evening at the outdoor courts at Saltonstall Park, behind the Watertown Boys & Girls Club. Games are free to attend.

No. 4 More Than Different 69, No. 5 New Day 65
Fourth-seed More Than Different is moving on to face the top seed Donohue’s Kaos Club follow after knocking off longtime League veterans New Day in a barnburner, 69-65. Colin McNamara led four in double figures with 15 points as Dom Black followed up with 14 points. Brendan McNamara and Keyshaad Dixon rounded out the quartet with 12 points.
Johnny McCarthy led New Day with 19 points, while Mykel Derring followed up with 14 points and Jamari Robinson added 12 points.
More Than Different moves on to face Donohue’s Kaos Club Wednesday night in the semifinals at 7 p.m.
No. 3 Middlesex Magic 54, No. 6 Q’s Squad 36
The second game of the night was a close on throughout the first half. Q’s Squad was keeping pace with the Magic, but the Middlesex Magic pulled away behind a 20-point night from Danny Yardemian. Mac Annus and Thomas Greaney followed up with 10 points each.
Q’s Squad got a lot of help from their bigs Thomas Hacker led the way with 13 points and Stephen Azums followed with nine points and Aaron Jaynes added seven.
Middlesex Magic will play the second seeded Zards on Wednesday night at 7:55 p.m.
