
In the first of two debates for races in the Sept. 1, 2026 State Primary, the candidates for 10th Middlesex State Representative will appear in a live televised debate on Watertown Cable Access Television. The debate is co-sponsored by Watertown News.
State Rep. John Lawn and challenger Alison Leary, who is a Newton City Councilor, will be in the Watertown Cable studio for the debate on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026 at 7 p.m. The moderator will be Watertown Cable Anchor Jim Vershbow.
The 10th Middlesex district includes parts of Watertown, Newton, and Waltham, including Watertown Precincts 9, 10, 11, and 12.

On Aug. 12, the candidates for Suffolk & Middlesex State Senate — Will Brownsberger and Daniel Lander — will debate at 7 p.m. The moderator will be Watertown Cable Anchor Maya Shwayder.
Both debates will air live exclusively on WCA-TV’s Public Channel (Comcast 9 & RCN 3) and stream live worldwide at WCATV.org/Public. Full replays will be available on demand after each debate.
