The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Human Rights Commission:
The Watertown Human Rights Commission (WHRC) is inviting local youth to help shape its public image through a Logo Design Contest this fall. Open to all elementary, middle and high school students in Watertown, the contest encourages participants to reflect on what human rights mean to them and express those ideas through art.
Designs should include the full name “Watertown Human Rights Commission” and may draw on themes of people, community, peace, or the Charles River. Submissions can be hand-drawn or digital and are due by Wednesday, November 12 at 11:59 p.m. to Doug Newton at dnewton@watertown-ma.gov.
A $100 gift card will be awarded to the winning artist, and the selected logo will be featured on official WHRC materials and social media. Winners will be announced later in November.
The WHRC, founded in 2024, promotes equity, inclusion, and access for all Watertown residents through education, dialogue, and community engagement.
Details and submission guidelines are available here, or contact Doug Newton at dnewton@watertown-ma.gov.
