Watertown’s Mosesian Center for the Arts will welcome a new company-in-residence, with the addition of Boston Dance Theater. See more information in the announcement from the MCA, below.

The Mosesian Center for the Arts is proud to announce that Boston Dance Theater has joined the organization as a Company-in-Residence, marking an exciting expansion of Mosesian Arts’ vision of being a home for artists, educators, and creative programming throughout Greater Boston.

The residency brings one of the region’s most acclaimed contemporary dance companies into ongoing collaboration with Mosesian Arts’ multidisciplinary campus, strengthening shared values around artistic innovation, community access, and lifelong creative learning.

“As we continue building the Mosesian Center for the Arts as a home for artists and creative partners, welcoming Boston Dance Theater feels like a natural and inspiring next step,” said Aliana de la Guardia, Executive Director of the Mosesian Center for the Arts. “Our community has expressed a growing interest in dance programming and movement-based education, and Boston Dance Theater brings world-class artistry and a vibrant creative energy that will enrich the experiences we offer to students and audiences and Watertown as a whole.”

In January, Boston Dance Theater will expand dance education at Mosesian Arts with a new series of classes as part of its winter education offerings. Led by BDT company artists, varied classes invite participants of all levels to engage with movement through contemporary technique, conditioning, mindfulness, creative expression, and professional-level training. The fiver new programs include Fitness, Energy & Strength, Mindful Movement & Relaxation, Creative Expression & Dance for Everyone, Signature BDT Creative Labs, and the BDT Pro Lab (for advanced contemporary training).

Classes will be available as six-week series or single drop-ins with multi-class pass options. Registration through the Mosesian Center for the Arts website at mosesianarts.org/education.

In addition to educational programs, BDT and Mosesian Arts will co-produce performances and creative development opportunities starting in Spring 2026. These collaborations will bring innovative new works to Mosesian Arts’ stages, while supporting BDT’s artistic process through rehearsal and creation time on site.

By establishing a long-term residency with BDT, Mosesian Arts deepens its role as a hub where artists and small arts organizations can grow, create, where audiences connect to innovative artists in their community and discover new ways to engage with the arts.

Boston Dance Theater Co-Artistic Director and Founder Jessie Jeanne Stinnett shared, “We’re thrilled to root our creative process and public programming at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, an organization that shares our belief in the power of movement to connect, inspire, and transform.”
